Finding Inspiration

It's in the color of their eyes, the wisps of smoke rising, that industrial buildings: finding inspiration is all about finding you and your attractions. As the epitome of life itself, Nature proves as a forerunner in providing inspiration. The way a creek flows or the way a tree bends is all part of the designing process. The progressing modernization of the world remains a huge part of designing through the ages. Progress is what brought shorts, and less undergarments

into the world. For the sake of creating designers often don’t find inspiration from anything in particular, but from simply their own creativity. Your own mind is simply the only thing keeping you away from finding inspiration in everything. For example take the most un-inspiration item, a blank white wall. From this one could create a more monochromatic look that incorporates embellishments of your own design into the final look.

Finding a common thread in what inspires you, is the key to unlocking the secrets behind your own personal style. An easy way to do this is to create a mood board. A “board” or paper, filled with images that make you feel something. When you're finished try to create a theme with the majority of images that are most similar. However what inspires you may not be something you're ready to jump into wearing/designing. Take me for example, armor of the middle ages is what most commonly inspires me, but I’m not ready to go around wearing a full heavy suit all day long. But then again I also enjoy the 70's hippie, which is nowhere near any idea of the stiff armor compared to the loose fabric. Don’t feel obligated to wear or create what gives you inspiration, but what empowers you the most.
