Welcome to the Oscars where camera's flash, awards given, and celebrities showcase designers. Along with the glamour of the awards show that was both fascinating and thrilling, the frills and shines of flowing dresses captured our eye. Of the top two looks of the night we find Emma Stone (left) in the elaborate Givenchy Couture. As well as Ruth Negga (right) in her gorgeous red Valentino dress. While the celebrities all played a role in providing the designers publicity, the designer show was stolen by the American Civil Liberties Union ribbons that showed support for the story “Loving.” It was dubbed the “accessory of the night.” Negga, was both wearing the ribbon and nominated for the best actress in “Loving” which was based on a true story of a couple banished from Virginia for interracial marriage. The ACLU took the case to the Supreme court in 1967. The outcome was the striking down of the segregation of relationships. The story combined with Negga’s striking gown was a sensation. All of the successful designer labels, have constantly created one of kind looks year after year. It's no doubt in the future we will see much more from them as well as the actresses supporting each of their extinguishing outfits
